This clip seems like such a period piece but I was struck by how little the gendering of library work has changed. The men working in the library include the reference librarian who fields the question about radar, the "highly paid executive" with "special competence" who is head of the library, the librarian who handles the film projection equipment, and the library school teacher, not to mention the doctor patron (and the narrator!).
I wonder how many people were actually inspired to become a librarian by watching this film. The patrons were all so agreeable and appreciative... Who wouldn't love to work in the library!
